Here’s our roundup of the latest news from the world of TV and film:
Gone Girl Trailer Released
The first trailer for Gone Girl has been released. For those of you who don’t know, the film stars Ben Affleck as a man whose wife goes missing, and soon the finger of suspicion points to him, but there is much more to the story than meets the eye. It has been previously confirmed that the ending of the film will differ from the ending of the book (which in my humble opinion can only be a good thing!). It is due to be released in the UK on 3rd October 2014. Check it out and let us know what you think
The Americans Renewed
FX has announced it has renewed its Cold War drama The Americans for a third season. In a statement, Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming for FX Networks, said: “The Americans continues be one of the best shows on television. Executive Producers Joe Weisberg, Joel Fields and Graham Yost have done a wonderful job delivering two seasons, and the performances from Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys and Noah Emmerich are stellar. Fans will be blown away by the rest of this season, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next year.” Happy that the show will be back for another season? Let us know in the comments below.
X-Men Scene Appears In Spider Man 2 Credits
In some rather odd news, apparently a scene from the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past is appearing in the post-credit scenes of The Amazing Spider Man 2. Now while both X-Men and Spider Man belong to Marvel, the rights to the X-Men movies are owned by Fox with Sony owning the rights to Spider Man so it is a little unusual for this to happen. However, we all know Marvel love their post-credit scenes, so maybe this is a sign of things to come? The scene apparently is a straight scene from the film featuring Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique leading an attack on a group of soldiers. It doesn’t look like it’s a mistake either as Sony have confirmed the X-Men scene will feature in the Spider Man 2 release in the UK.
Magic Mike XXL Release Date Confirmed
It has been confirmed that the sequel to Magic Mike, entitled Magic Mike XXL, will be released on 4th July 2015. Not much else is known about the plot (does it even need a plot?) but recently Channing Tatum said: “This one will be a road trip movie. Without giving a lot away, we don’t wanna make it a really serious, slice-of-life movie. We want to have reality in it, but we don’t want to make it some dark drama.” Will you be checking out Magic Mike XXL? Let us know in the comments below.
Rosemary’s Baby Trailer Released
After we confirmed the premiere date of NBC’s miniseries version of Rosemary’s Baby, the network has now released the first trailer too. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
